Sunday 1st October 10:30, 5½ miles: Enjoy distant views on this walk starting from the Bell Inn in Aldworth, towards Streatley and joining the Ridgeway heading west for a bit before returning to the Bell. Tuesday 3rd October 10:00, 14½ miles: A mostly flat route around Swinley Forest taking in Caesar's Camp and Englemere Pond to the north, and Bagshot and Surrey Hill to the south. Sunday 8th October 10:00, 5 miles: Playing fields of Eton: from the St Edwards School walk along roads to cross the River Thames, Then a circular walk around Eton Wick and the Playing Fields of Eton. Sunday 22nd October 10:00, 7 miles: An autumn stroll from Henley through Gillsmithers Wood then over Drawback Hill. Start: SU772817 Free car park at Mill Lane near Marsh Lock, Henley. CLOCKS WENT BACK ONE HOUR OVERNIGHT. Sunday 29th October 10:00, 6 miles: Ruscombe and West End – a flat walk through fields and lanes around the perimeter of what was Ruscombe lake – drained in 1820. Thursday 2nd November 10:30, 4 miles: Historic Reading Three Rivers Walk. Easy stroll, mainly towpaths. Take in the history of central Reading (without the shopping!) Beginning with Holy Brook, Kennet Wharfs, Abbey, Prison, Blakes Lock, Brunel's Horseshoe Bridge, The Thames, Lock & Weir, Nature Reserve, the latest Thames crossing & Forbury Gardens. Sunday 5th November 10:30, 6 miles: Follow the Thames Path through Little Marlow and Bloom Wood with one longish ascent, but not too steep. Rewarded by views across the Thames towards Marlow. Thursday 9th November 10:30, 5½ miles: A mainly flat walk with no stiles in this part of wildest Berkshire with possible sightings of alpacas, guinea fowl, etc. Start: SU702815 Rotherfield Peppard cricket club, Stoke Row Road. East Berks Group is hosting the meeting this year - please come along and support the committee and the speaker. 10:30am: A choice of two walks (approx 4-6 miles). 12:30pm: Hot & cold drinks will be available after the walk and packed lunches can be eaten at the hall.
