Thursday 18th January 10:30, 5.8 miles: The "Sonning Eye" walk. Exploring the countryside around Sonning, Binfield Heath and Shiplake Copse, (from which bluebells were harvested to make the glue that was used to attach the feathers to the English arrows that were used at Agincourt!). Thursday 15th March 10:30, 5 miles: Goring Gap, with superb views and river vistas. A linear walk along the Thames Path from Whitchurch to Goring, where we will catch the train back to Pangbourne (fare £2.70). Then across the toll bridge and back to the cars. Tuesday 20th March 10:00, 12½ miles: A local walk exploring the lovely Berkshire and Hampshire countryside. We will proceed through the Finchampstead Ridges and then walk down to the Blackwater river and follow the Three Castles Trail for a while. We will then enter the Bramshill estate and walk through the plantation until arriving back the Blackwater river. From the New Mill ford we will then walk back through the village of Finchampstead and into Simons Wood to be reunited with our cars. Thursday 29th March 10:30, 5½ miles: The Green Lanes of Waltham St Lawrence. Fields, lanes, a village church, a country pub, an old yew tree, a few stiles but mostly flat. You will love this one.
