To get back to the start point:
2. Mill End to Knowl Hill

3. Knowl Hill to Shurlock Row
From the bus stop outside the Royal Oak pub in Shurlock Row, take Bus 4 or Bus 4A (Courtney Buses) to Maidenhead town centre (Frascati Way). Then transfer to Bus 237 (Courtney Buses) to Knowl Hill and alight at the Bus Stop outside the Square Deal Cafe on the A4 at Knowl Hill.
4. Shurlock Row to Coppid Beech
From the bus stop opposite the Ski Centre on John Nike Way, take Bus 190 (First in Berkshire & Thames Valley to the Bracknell Bus Station (Bay 4). Then take Bus 53 towards Wexham Park Hospital and get off at Moneyrow Green, adjacent to Foxley Green Farm Hail & Ride (on Touchen End Road) and transfer to Bus 4 towards Maidenhead Town Centre and alight at the bus stop in Shurlock Row outside the Royal Oak pub.
5. Coppid Beech to Ambarrow Court
Turn back along the path towards the railway line and after crossing the railway, turn left after the swing gates and follow the fenced path parallel to the railway line for about three quarters of a mile until emerging at Crowthorne Station. Take the train to Wokingham and then walk up station road and turn left past the Council offices and into Broad Street. Cross the road for the Bus Stop on the other side to the Post Office and take Bus 190 (First in Berkshire & Thames Valley) going to Bracknell. Alight at the bus stop opposite the Ski Centre on John Nike Way on the outskirts of Bracknell.
6. Ambarrow Court to Bramshill Plantation
As there is no public transport near the finish of Stage 6 (Well House Lane, Bramshill Plantation); the best suggestion for returning to Ambarrow Court is to extend this stage by walking the first part of Stage 7 as far as Riseley. When reaching the Riseley Memorial hall at the end of “The Devil’s Highway” bridleway, turn right along “Odiham Road” for a short distance until reaching the Basingstoke Road (B3349). Then take Bus 72 for Reading station (hourly service by Fleet Buzz) from the bus stop adjacent to the Bull Pub which is on the other side of the Basingstoke Road. Alight at Reading Station and take the train to Crowthorne Station. On arrival in Crowthorne, exit the Station and with your back to the main Station buildings turn right along footpath, passing modern buildings, soon with woodland on left and continue until reaching embankment of bridge (over railway) ahead, where you bear left and shortly turn right, to follow fenced path beside sports field. Just after entering woodland ahead, turn right through metal swing-gate to cross railway and into the pine clad woodland of Ambarrow Hill to shortly reach the car park.
7. Bramshill Plantation to Beech Hill
8. Beech Hill to Madejski P & R
As Beech Hill has no reasonable public transport links, it is recommended that both Stage 7 and Stage 8 are walked together starting Stage 7 in Riseley. This links with extending Stage 6 as described above. At the Madejski Park and Ride car park, take either Bus 52 or Bus 53 for central Reading and alight at Reading station. Then take Bus 72 (hourly service by Fleet Buzz) towards Aldershot and alight at the Bull pub in Riseley. Alternatively if you feel up to walk for another 20 minutes, from the Madejski Park and Ride car park walk down to the A33. After crossing the A33 and walk up Bennett Road to the Basingstoke Road (B3031) and cross to the bus stop on the other side of the road to take Bus 72 for Riseley.
9. Madejski P & R to TV Business Park
Take the TVP Bus (Stewart Coaches) towards the centre of Reading and alight at Reading Station and transfer to Bus 52 or Bus 53 (Reading Buses) for the Madejski Stadium and alight at the Park and Ride car park.
10. Thames Valley Business Park to Shiplake Station
Either take Arriva Bus 800 or Arriva Bus 850 from Shiplake (A4155) to Reading station and town centre, then take the bus marked TVP (Stewart Coaches) and alight at the bus stop near the Waterside Centre in the Thames Valley Park. Alternatively, catch the train from Shiplake Station to Twyford and transfer to a train going to Reading. Then turn right out of Reading Station and walk down to the bus stop on Forbury Road just after the turning into Apex Plaza. Take the bus marked TVP (Stewart Coaches) and alight at the bus stop near the Waterside Centre in the Thames Valley Park.
